Presenter Praveen Madan
Praveen Madan started his career with an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. After spending a decade working at Kearney, the global management consulting firm, Praveen found himself asking the question posed by the poet Mary Oliver: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” He left his corporate job and jumped into the book industry.
Praveen credits his learnings and relationships with the Berrett-Koehler community as being critical to the turnaround and transformation of Kepler’s as a model next-generation community bookstore. In 2021, Praveen partnered with several BK community members to convene the Reimagining Bookstores movement with a mission to deepen literacy, strengthen communities, and pay living wages to bookstore employees. In January 2024, Praveen was appointed to lead Berrett-Koehler Publishers as CEO and Publisher.
