As the former VP of direct and partner sales at Berrett-Koehler PublishersMaria Jesus Aguilo oversaw sales through third-party digital distributors and subsidiary rights sales. After receiving a master’s degree in publishing from the University of Barcelona in 1992, Maria Jesus moved to California and started her career in independent publishing. In 1996 she joined Berrett-Koehler Publishers, where she has made several contributions, most notably building up their subsidiary rights program, spearheading the transition to digital publishing, and most recently, creating the in-house audiobook publishing program.
